Synopsis
Leading insurer actively seeking a number of Underwriters to join the Small Business Team based in Maidstone.

Job Profile
Underwriter sought to acquire and retain business, underwrite professionally in accordance with company standards and provide excellent service to customers. Responsibilities will including underwriting new and existing business cases (including analysis and compilation of data for referral), dealing with referrals and general queries, processing new business and adjustments, forming/developing broker relationships and assisting with the training of less experienced team members. The role will involve organising workloads to achieve team budgets, making time for customer development opportunities, applying and maintaining underwriting standards up to own underwriting authority, achieving targets, exploiting opportunities for improvement and working cooperatively with other team members.

Applicant Requirements
Candidates will need to have a strong commercial underwriting background with a proven track record of consistently delivering a high level of service and dynamic trading behaviour to achieve targets. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills, excellent verbal influencing and negotiating skills are also required. Candidates will be working towards or have achieved ACII qualification and have an enthusiastic, positive attitude with strong decision making skills.
