Martin joined Independent Appointments in 1988 and became co-owner of the company following an MBO in October 2004. He began his insurance career in 1972 with Legal & General, becoming a corporate broker at Bowrings in 1974 and subsequently moving into a development role with Cornhill 10 years later. Martin is responsible for co-managing the company but maintains an active involvement in recruitment, concentrating on commercial appointments at all levels throughout the Yorkshire region.
Simon joined Independent Appointments in 2003 having previously spent 3 years in insurance recruitment. Prior to this, he spent 11 years as a commercial underwriter working for General Accident and Sun Alliance in Leeds. Simon is responsible for leading the Leeds General Insurance Team and specialises in the recruitment of both commercial and senior personal lines personnel within Yorkshire for both insurer and broker markets.
Martin entered the insurance industry in 1986 with the Guardian Royal Exchange and having progressed his career to Senior Commercial Underwriter joined Lombard Continental in 1997 as a Corporate Sales & Development Executive. Martin moved into recruitment in 2000 and in September 2002 joined Independent Appointments where he acts as Regional Manager for the North West and provides a service as Senior Consultant within the Insurance and Legal sectors.
Richard joined Independent Appointments in March 2007 after gaining a BSc in Human Organisations. His ambition was to work within the Recruitment Industry. He joined as a Trainee but he has progressed significantly and now plays a vital role within the General Insurance Division.
Cameron entered the insurance industry in 1999 working for Independent Insurance within the new business and commercial underwriting markets in both Birmingham and London. In 2001 he progressed into recruitment were he began to specialise in the brokering sector for the wider midlands region. Cameron joined IAUK in 2010 to handle all positions for commercial brokers in the Midlands and South West for all salary levels.
Jenny joined the Independent Appointments in January 2008. With almost 4 year’s previous experience recruiting within the financial services and accounting industries, she has built up a wealth of market knowledge and expertise which complements the team. Jenny specialises in recruitment within the Financial Services industry in various locations across the UK; she also recruits for General Insurance related positions in the North East of England.
Louise began supporting the General Insurance, Legal & Financial Services divisions of Independent Appointments, Manchester office, in May 1996, building on a secretarial career that spanned 6 years previously, at the Department of Education, Manchester University. She provides unrivalled knowledge of our needs and systems in giving the support our consultants require.
