Martin joined Independent Appointments in 1988 and became co-owner of the company following an MBO in October 2004. He began his insurance career in 1972 with Legal & General, becoming a corporate broker at Bowrings in 1974 and subsequently moving into a development role with Cornhill 10 years later. Martin is responsible for co-managing the company but maintains an active involvement in recruitment, concentrating on commercial appointments at all levels throughout the Yorkshire region.
Jenny joined the Independent Appointments in January 2008. With almost 4 year’s previous experience recruiting within the financial services and accounting industries, she has built up a wealth of market knowledge and expertise which complements the team. Jenny specialises in recruitment within the Financial Services industry in various locations across the UK; she also recruits for General Insurance related positions in the North East of England.
Donna joined Independent Appointments in 2003 and has over 11 years' recruitment experience. She has recruited within the Financial Services industry for 8 years, as well as General Insurance, Loss Adjusting, Engineering and Accountancy Sectors throughout the UK and Overseas.
Being experienced within a variety of Industry Sectors and possessing industry qualifications gives Independent Appointments a valuable position within the Recruitment Industry. Donna utilises her expertise by working on a consultative basis with clients and candidates by genuinely taking time to understand their requirements and in turn help find the most suitable solution to suit their individual needs.
Prior to entering the Recruitment industry Donna worked within the Financial Services Sector starting as a Sales Support Administrator for an international Life Company in Buckinghamshire then progressed to work for an Independent Financial Advisor in Northamptonshire on a one-to-one basis providing full paraplanning support. Donna finally worked for a Pensioneer Trustee house in Leicester specialising in SSAS & SIPP's before re-locating to Yorkshire. During this time Donna completed Financial Planning Certificates 1 & 2.
Prior to working within the Financial Services Industry Donna worked alongside Japanese Directors of large International Japanese Automotive organisations in the North East of England and Buckinghamshire. During this time Donna studied the Japanese language (conversational, reading and writing) to an advanced level and lived in Japan.
Julie provides full PA support to the Consultants. Julie has been with Independent Appointments for nearly 20 years and provides invaluable market and technical knowledge.
